Colin Reedy, aged 26, and probationary firefighter Emily Gindele, who is 24, were on their way to the fire station when an emergency alarm sounded during a heavy downpour. Tragically, their vehicle veered off the road, Pennsylvania Route 100, and collided with a tree. Colin lost his life due to his injuries at the accident scene, while Emily was rushed to the Paoli Memorial Trauma Center.
